By A Member, Federal House of Representatives representing Lagos Mainland Constituency, Hon. Jide Jimoh has called on Community Development Committee (CDC) and Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Yaba LCDA to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming local government election.
He disclosed in a meeting with CDAs, CDCs and the APC chairmanship candidate in his constituency office.
Jimoh stressed that grassroots mobilisation must be engaged to win votes for the party candidates.
He assured them that the new government would delivered dividends of democracy to the grassroots communities.
According to him, “do not criticize anybody, go out to mobilise people and ensure peace co existences among people. None of the pooling units must be lost to opposition parties. Surely, this incoming government would carry community development associations and the people along before, during and after election.
He said their loyalty must be for the party, chairmanship candidates and the Yaba Local council Development Area alone.
“In this forthcoming election, the leadership of the party is awaiting any local council that would win all the wards in a landslide. Therefore your loyalty must be for the state, APC party, our chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
“The incoming government is not the one that will neglect elderly, youths, traders, artisans and all others stakeholders. It would built on the legacy we have laid during our time in government”, he said.
While commending the Sole Administrator Yaba LCDA, the lawmaker stated that he had done well and the people of the council were satisfied with his performance in the last one year.
In his contribution, the CDC chairman, Mr. Odunsi Adeboye assured the lawmaker of their support for the candidates. “We all agree to ensure landslide victory at the polls and also partner with the incoming government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens of Yaba LCDA, also for the benefit of our land.
He said, “we offer our total loyalty and support on for APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates because we have one vision and we know the plight of our people at the grassroots level.”
In his reaction, Sole Administrator Yaba LCDA, Hon. Bayo Adefuye drummed his support for the party, the people and for the candidates in the forthcoming LGs/LCDA elections.
“APC chairmanship candidate is the best for the job to move the council forward again. On the forthcoming elections, the party, people and the incoming chairman have my total support.
He also thanked the CDC of their support in the last one year in office describing them as the best in Lagos State.
“As my tenure is round off, I want to appreciate the best CDC/ CDAs in the state of their unflinching support towards my success in Yaba LCDA. I Am very happy to hand over the leadership of this council to the incoming chairman.
“Just as the primaries was successful, all the necessary things we need in this election in terms of security and other logistics would be made available”, he said.
