By The Lagos Central Senatorial District chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday presented flags to both Yaba LCDA, Mainland LG chairmanship candidates ahead of the forthcoming local government council election in the state.
The state Vice Chairman for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Fuad Oki, Alhaji who presented the flags during a flag off political gathering held at Wright Street, Yaba, pointed out that fairness, community development and progress were one of the hallmarks of the APC and it was exercised in the processes of producing the party flag bearers.
Oki added that the people of Yaba LCDA and Mainland Local Government will enjoy developmental and progressive program if they vote for all the party candidates.
“APC promised you before God and with the testimonies of the people, we this incoming government in both local governments would perform more than the previous ones”, he said.
While urging the traditional leaders, religious leaders, market Women and Men, youths, he said they should all support and votes for APC party to enjoy dividend of democracy.
Similarly, Former Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Monsuru Alao Owolabi said with formidable unity in the party, support and confidence of Yaba and Mainland people, he was optimistic that APC would win all the contestable seats.
Also APC Stewart in Lagos Mainland, Otunba Tayo Oyemade who enjoined all party members to ensure no votes is lost to opposition, said “God has made impossibility to become possible. Therefore, none of the party votes must be lost to opposition. All the party members must mobilised, canvassed and ensured all votes count for all Chairmanship and Councillors candidates in Yaba and mainland.”
The member House of Representatives representing Lagos Mainland Constituency, Hon Olajide Jimoh in his reaction also urged members to come together and work for the party success, saying a vote for Omiyale and Essien in both local councils is a vote for progressives.
He, however, called on the party members and the candidates to conduct their campaign in a decent and peaceful manner in accordance with rules and regulation.
The candidates are contesting the local government chairmanship seats in Yaba and Lagos Mainland and 18 ward councillors in the election slated for 22nd July, were given flag of the party.
