Chief Imam of Lagos Mainland, Alhaji Sabitu Lawal has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the forthcoming Lagos State LGs/LCDA elections to focus on best practice from a broad areas relating to community development and people’s well-being.
He made this remark at a Ramadan lecture and Special prayer held in Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency office, Yaba.
The Chief Imam in his message said the selection of Hon. Kayode Omiyale, Hon. Rasheedat Essien for the position of chairmen of both Yaba LCDA and Mainland is not based on god-fatherism or qualifications rather the mercy of Almighty Allah.
According to him, “Other aspirants were also qualified but God anointed you to be the best candidates that will carry the flag of APC in the forthcoming LG/elections in Lagos state. You should all see that it is Allah’s mercy that made it possible.”
He also said they must imbibe the spirit of excellent performance that was laid by the former local government chairmen, Hon Olajide Jimoh and his colleague, Hon Adekanye
“Embrace all other aspirants in the spirit of collective participation to move your local governments forward. The change only happens when people are willing to put their hands together for good”, he said
He urged the candidates to involve the people, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all other stakeholders.
He further called on the people of Yaba and Lagos Mainland local government to vote for the candidates of APC.
