Several residents have raised their voice against the fresh attack carried out by suspected Badoo group in Ibeshe area of Ikorodu early Sunday morning, killing four out of their five victims. Joining the voices of the residents are lawmaker, Hon Babajimi Benson; politician, Prince Lanre Sanusi; community leaders and also the Councillor of the affected community.

Reacting to the incident, Hon Benson declared that dark forces that have planned to prevail on the community will fail.

He said, “It is disheartening and troubling to me particularly that these evil doers actually perpetuated that act on Sunday and escaped without been noticed after wrecking havoc. I wish the souls of the departed victims perfect rest and a quick recovery for the survival. He also assured the residents that necessary efforts are in place to curb the menace.

“I assure the good people of Ikorodu that the forces of darkness shall not prevail on our society as we shall come out stronger to clamp down on the group and all other evil forces,” Hon Benson added.

Prince Sanusi in his condolence message to the Ibeshe community which suffered the fresh incident urged the security agencies to re appraise their strategy in order to halt the dreaded act.

“Ikorodu Division can no longer continue to make headline on negativity, let’s join hands with the appropriate agencies to halt this ugly trend.”

Hon Olusesan Daini, the Chairman of the LCDA of Ibeshe in his condolence message to the community revealed that the incident saddened him when he got informed about the latest attack. He said the inability to know the purpose of the attack by the dreaded group is a great concern as it has only that would have helped to curtail the evil acts.

He assured that the government will not tolerate the heinous and barbaric acts. He advised that the residents should remain calm as they carry out their daily activities assuring that the security agencies, including the local vigilante groups are all out to bring the culprits to justice.

Olu Omoniyi, a Community Leader urged all the communities to come together to help strenghten the efforts of the security apparatus as it was cleear the Badoo group are out to foist its nefarious plan on the helpless families.

He called on all the residents to rise in unison to protect each other against the seemingly insurgency in their midst.

He also called on the government to map out a design that will serve as a workable template to assist block all the loopholes which the dreaded gang is acting upon.

Omoniyi advised that Baales and CDAs should create a Joint Task Force for special operations especially in the night, moment the group usually carry out their attacks.

Councilor of Ibeshe, Hon Arowolo Mathew described the ugly incident as unfortunate and advised the community to be vigilant so as to prevent future attacks. He also assured that relevant authorities including the Chairman of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area where Ibeshe is located, are all out to arrest the situation.
