Lawmaker Empowers 2000 Youths With Skills

In a bid to complement government’s efforts in making the teeming unemployed youths self reliant, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Jimoh has organised a two week crafts and vocational skill training for 2000 youths in Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency,

The training commenced on Monday with the registration of the participants which was done simultaneously at Lagos Mainland Local Government and Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) secretariats.

Jimoh’s decision is solely to reduce the rate of unemployment and the ceaseless hunt for white collar jobs after their tertiary education, saying its an economic advantage that would help recipients to earn a living and contribute to national development.

The 2000 beneficiaries will undergo practical training on make-up/gele, hair making, event decoration, ankara craft, Soap and Insecticides Making

He called on the youths within his constituency to take full advantage of the program.

Executive Director, Centre for Youth Development and Skill Acquisition, (CYDAS) Comrade Alaba Olapade at the registration centres lauded the lawmaker for encouraging the youths in taking up their own businesses in the drive towards self reliance and reduction of unemployment in the society.
