Lawmaker Beaten To Coma, Hospitalised After Mob Action By Angry Constituents

Monday , April 3rd will forever be a bad date for Hon Salihu Adamu as it was the day his angry Constituents carried out a mob action against him following his neglect after getting into office.

A report by Punch revealed that the House of Representatives member representing the Bosso/Paiko Federal Constituency had not visited his constituents since he assumed the position two years ago.

It was gathered that the lawmaker’s  decision to visit his town where a political meeting was holding got him a beating of his life and was immediately hospitalised.

It took the intervention of officers from the Niger State Police Command before the 48 years old politician could be rescued from the mob.

It was reported that Hon Adamu was first rushed to a private hospital in the State capital before being taken to another in Kaduna State for proper medication.

According to the account of an eyewitness, Hon Adamu was warned on arrival to leave the town immediately as members of his community were angered by his prolonged absence after being sworn in. It was gathered that he ignored the warning and joined the meeting.

Niger State Police Command spokesperson, Bala Ikhana while confirming the incident disclosed that three suspects have been arrested in connection to the mob action.
