By Recently, many observers of events in Lagos State University have imagined how the new management under the leadership of Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun have been able to seamlessly engage both the students and staff of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor recently revealed during the Press Conference held to usher in the 21st Convocation Ceremony on Thursday reasons behind the communication.
A reporter who have been observing attitudes in and around the prestigious varsity asked the Vice Chancellor the magic behind the relative calm between and amongst students, Staff and management of LASU.
In his simple response, Prof Fagbohun disclosed that the all-inclusive policy adopted by his Management have helped solve many crisis that would have warranted protests.
He acknowledged that disagreement was normal in every partnership, but the methods used in handling such matters determines the outcome.
He noted that he makes sure that he meets with all the leadership of unions present in the institution from time to time in order to understand their feelings about developments.
He disclosed that one of such meetings was the Breakfast-Tea Meeting he held with the Students’ Union when he unveiled the planned 6,000 capacity hostel facility to the benefits of the students.
He also affirmed the positive relationship with all Staff Unions on the campus as they were all present at the Press Conference, which he said would not have been the case had it been they were not carried along.
