By A student of the Lagos State University, Rilwan Akanbi Daniel has won the Asoju Oba Table Tennis Championship in the Men’s Singles category.
Rilwan, who is from the Department of Human and Kinectic Sports and Health Education of the faculty of Education, beat his contender, Muiz Adegoke in the men’s singles final to lift the coveted trophy.
The grand finale of the 53rd Asoju Oba Cup was held on Tuesday at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, with former international, Atanda Musa, as guest of honour.
Congratulating the student for his feat, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello noted that his achievement is a plus to her administration’s vision to put the institution on global map through sports.
