Graduates of Lagos State University (LASU) under the Stream Two admission scheme have appealed to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, for the official issuance of certificates validating their participation in the university’s Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Programme.

In a letter dated June 26, 2025, and signed by the “Concerned Graduates of Stream Two,” the group expressed their gratitude to the university for organizing the entrepreneurship initiative, which ran concurrently with their four-year undergraduate academic programs.

They stated that the program, which included training in areas such as web development, digital marketing, event planning, and fashion design, was an essential component of their educational journey at LASU.

The graduates emphasized that many of them are now pursuing job opportunities, funding, and innovation initiatives that require formal documentation of their entrepreneurial training.

They requested the issuance of an official Certificate of Completion or Participation as proof of their involvement in the program.

“The University had communicated its commitment to equip us not only academically but also with practical entrepreneurial skills,” the letter read.

“This document will not only serve as a verifiable reference but also strengthen our professional profiles in job markets, funding applications, and innovation ecosystems across Nigeria and beyond.”

The graduates also highlighted that the entrepreneurial training was sustained throughout their academic journey, including submission of project-based reports across innovation-driven sectors.

They urged the university leadership to align with its stated mission of empowering students beyond the classroom and expressed optimism that the Vice Chancellor would respond favorably and promptly to their appeal.
