By The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun on Thursday called on all stakeholders of the institution to join hands in raising it to a greater heights.
He made this disclosure in his speech at the award of Higher Degrees to Graduands which also marked the conclusion of the 21st Convocation Ceremony at the Main Auditorium, Main Campus Ojo.
Prof Fagbohun appreciated the dedication of th University’s Visitor, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who was present at the ceremony, to the development of the institution in the last two years. He stated that the infrastructure upliftment the Main Campus is witnessing came as the will of the State Government to position the State’s institution to World Class standard.
Also present at the ceremony were; Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu Osuolale; Deputy Governor, Dr Idayat Adebule; high ranking traditional rulers in Lagos, White Cap Chiefs, some Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, honourary awardees, Sir Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu and Mrs Folorunsho Alakija and their invited guests.
University Management were led by the Chancellor, Hon Justice Adesola Oguntade (Rtd); Pro-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Ninalowo, Members of the Senate and LASU Governing Council, the Registrar, Librarian, Bursar, members of Academic and Non-Academic Staff and Students of the varsity.
He also called on all stakeholders of the Citadel of Learning to render available support to help reposition the standard which has helped the institution remain Best University in the Country according the the NUC ranking.
He also called on the Student Union Government and all Unions present on the Campus to help maintain the peace in the University as development could only be attained in peacefully environment
