LASU Management Commiserates With Family Of Prof Abubakar Momoh

The Management of Lagos State University hereby confirms the death of Prof. Abubakah Momoh, the Director General of the Electoral Institute of the Independent National Electoral  Committee (INEC).

The State-owned University commiserated with Prof Momoh Family in a statement signed by Mr Ademola Adekoya, the Acting Head of Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations (an arm of the Vice Chancellor’s office) late Monday and made available to BlackBox Nigeria.

Mr Adekoya disclosed that the bereaved wife, Mrs Tawakalitu Momoh informed the University that Prof Momoh died in the early hours of Monday 29th May, 2017, precisely at 9am, at his official quarters in Abuja.

Until his appointment as the Director-General of the Electoral Institute,  Professor Momoh was the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, Lagos State University, Ojo.

Speaking on behalf of the VC, Mr Adekoya stated that the sudden death of Prof Momoh was a huge loss and that the whole University  Community is deeply saddened by the demise of the renowned Professor of Political Science and a fine gentle man.

“The Vice Chancellor, Prof Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun on behalf of the Council, Senate, University Management and the entire students commiserates with the entire family of Prof. Abubakar Momoh and prays to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for his soul to rest in perfect peace. Amen,” he said.
