A lecturer of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ganiu Bamgbose has published a research paper on two popular comedy series, Jenifa’s Diary and Professor John Bull.
Bamgbose, who co-authored the paper, made this known via a post on his Facebook page on Thursday.
The post reads, “A good way to end the year! Alihamdulillahi! Sunday, A. B., & Bamgbose, G. A. (2021). A pragmatic analysis of humour strategies and functions in ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ and ‘Professor JohnBull’. The European Journal of Humour Research, 9(4), 20-34.”
Both comedy series — Jenifa’s Diary and Professor John Bull — were released in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Jenifa’s Diary is a creation of leading Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele. The series with 24 seasons is still being aired on television stations.
Professor John Bull, on the other hand, was created by leading movie director, Tchidi Chikere, and sponsored by Globacom Telecommunications. It has 6 seasons.
