LASU International School Principal, Taiwo Odumbo Becomes New Education Secretary of Ikorodu LGEA

Mr. Taiwo Odumbo, Principal of LASU International School, has been appointed as the new Education Secretary of the Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

The recent achievement marks a new chapter in his decades-long career in the education sector.

Odumbo, a seasoned education administrator and widely respected for his leadership at LASU International School assume the new position owing to his remarkable achievement in the education sector of the state Particularly at the grassroot level.

He is wealth of experience in academic management, teacher development, and educational policy implementation.

His appointment comes at a time when Lagos State is prioritising improvements in public basic education, particularly at the local government level.

Prior to his new role, Odumbo earned recognition not only for his stewardship at LASU International School but also for his broader contributions to the education sector.

In 2024, he was appointed a member of the Education Committee of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), where he contributed to shaping policy discussions around education and human capital development in Nigeria.

Reacting to the development, education stakeholders in Ikorodu have welcomed Odumbo’s appointment as a well deserved feat.

As a former nominee for the same position in 2020, Odumbo’s eventual emergence as Education Secretary has been described by many in the community as long overdue.
