Thirteen years after graduating with a first-class degree in Psychology, Latifat Odunuga has returned to the Lagos State University (LASU) to give back through a N2 million scholarship endowment.
The fund is targeted at supporting students living with disabilities and other brilliant but financially challenged undergraduates in the institution.
As LASU’s best graduating student in social science in 2012, Odunuga made a name for herself as she also bagged ‘Best Graduating Student’ award during her Master’s program at the university of Lagos (UNILAG).
Speaking at the event virtually, Odunuga said her journey through LASU inspired her to ensure that no promising student is denied education because of financial limitations nor physical disabilities.
She emphasized that the scholarship and endowment are designed to celebrate resilience, inspire excellence and build a culture of inclusivity and opportunity for future generations.
The launch ceremony was attended by university management, faculty members, and students, who all praised Odunuga’s gesture as a source of inspiration for current and future generations.
With the endowment, Odunuga joins the growing list of LASU alumni who are contributing to strengthening the university’s academic community and supporting its students beyond the classroom.
