‘LagosRide’ Drivers Must Obey Traffic Laws, LASTMA

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba has on Saturday implored the ‘LagosRide’ drivers to comply with all the traffic laws.

Mr Oreagba, during the visitation of top management of Ibile Holdings Limited (“LagosRide” Taxi owners) that was headed by it’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abiodun Amokomowo to LASTMA headquarters at Oshodi, Lagos, remarked that, the warning is important to checkmate the way the drivers operate on the road.

However, the General Manager noted that some ‘LagosRide’ drivers/operators do not consider other road users’ safety while on the road, stating that some of them show nonchalant attitude to traffic law.

He affirmed, “Let me state here clearly that impunity of drivers of these ‘LagosRide’ Taxi driving on BRT corridors/obstructions on major roads is becoming alarming and as a responsible and responsive agency of government, we would no longer condone their recklessness as we shall continue to apply the full weight of the Law on motorists found contravening any sections of the Traffic Laws”.

However, Oreagba gave kudos to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and the Ibile Holdings Limited for creating employment opportunities for the unemployed in the society.

Moreso, while speaking at the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Ibile Holdings Limited, Mr. Abiodun Amokomowo reiterated that the company was created by the Lagos state Government to increase the economic growth, contributing to the viable and strategic industries as well as the commerce in the development and growth of the state.

Speaking further, Abiodun explained that it is a way of preventing the riders and passengers, stating that each “LagosRide” taxi is made with full security gadgets as well as 360 dashboard which will give 24-hours auto visual feeds to the control center, per adventure there’s an emergency.

 

Mr. Amokomowo therefore made it mandatory for each Lagos state driver of ‘LagosRide’ taxi to undergo full verification exercise including having Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) I.D Cards, as well as resident registration numbers.
