…Says he is the most qualified for the Governoship Race
…Set to be the first indigenous governor since 20 years
BlackBox Nigeria can say that the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has endorsed the candidature of Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi popularly known as BOG of Action Democratic Party, ADP as the group’s preferred candidate for the 2019 governorship elections.
The exercise which took place at the Conference room of Protea Hotel in Ikeja few hours ago according to the organizers was a collective show of suppprt to the ADP candidate who was largely referred during the meeting as the most qualified for liberating Lagosians from 20 years of hegemonic rule by the ruling All Progessive Congress, APC.
The endorsement according to a statement by the Secretary General of CUPP, Mr. Oloye Gboyega Adeniyi, is coming after the agreement recently reached by the 35 political parties under the aegis of the organisation to pull resources together to ensure a break from the past 20 years of which BOG became the most qualified beneficiary.
CUPP also called on Lagosians to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the group to provide a formidable force in dethroning the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC by coming out in thier number to vote the ADP gubernatorial candidate come Saturday March 9th 2019.
The statement presented by Mr Oloye reads,
“All protocols duly observed, you all will recall that the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) was formed by well meaning national chairpersons of political parties in Nigeria, including the PDP & many others, ostensibly to provide a common front capable of defeating the extreme right wing elements masquerading as progressives within the APC, who were fortunate to hijack the reigns of power after the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan,”
“The outcome of the presidential election has further confirmed the fears of Nigerians for the future unity and well-being of the nation under our present crop of leaders,”
“In appreciation of these fears, 35 political parties under the CUPP met and agreed to put resources together to ensure a break from the past 20 years,”
“To this end, we have determined to endorse Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi of the ADP as our consensus GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE OF LAGOS STATE for the 2019 elections,”
“We are convinced that his passion to make Lagos state achieve her potential is second. His manifesto is as forward looking as it is practical and realistic,”
“Moreover his election shall make him the first indigenous Governor of the state in the past 20 years. We urge every well meaning Lagosian to vote the ADP candidate, Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi as the next Governor of Lagos state,”
“The group also made it known that the election of BOG will not just make Lagos prosperous due to his practical and achievable plans but that his emergence will make him the first indigenous governor of the state since 20 years,”
In his brief response, CUPP’s endorsed Gbadamosi commended the group for taking such a bold step in the emacipation of the state from forces and power blocs that have held on to it against the will of the people as a family business for the past 20 years.
Eloquent BOG did not leave any stone unturned as he took out time to preach his unrepentant gospel of making Lagos State thrive in all developmental indices which includes; Infrastructure, improved workers welfare if voted in as the next governor.
Recall that as part of the lofty plans of the Ikorodu born to elevate the livelihood of civil servants in the state as reported by BalckBox Nigeria recently, the governorship hopeful has promised that the average Lagos State worker will earn monthly as minimum wage the sum of N100, O00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira).
Other areas he intend to touch in our previous coverage of his campaign train that has continue to gain momentum are housing, improved agriculture through hydroponic farming, quality road infrastructure amongst others.
With the endorsement, BOG becomes a formidable force to reckon with as he has proven himself as not just a candidate with the full grasp of issues relating to the state but one with fresh innovation and insight.
The spirit is no doubt high in the ADP camp as they walk to the polls on Saturday to slug it out with major contenders like the candidate of the ruling APC; Babajide Sanwo-Olu and People’s Democratic Party’s, PDP; Jimi Agbaje.
