Public voting for the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards will officially close on Friday, December 10.
The organizers made this known in a statement on Thursday, saying winners will be revealed at the event billed to hold on Boxing Day, December 26, at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.
An initiative of BBN360, a thriving media company based in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with some youth-based non-profit organizations, the Lagos Youth Awards is designed to celebrate outstanding young people who have positively contributed and excelled in their different fields of endeavour.
This year’s edition tagged ‘The Working Tribe’ will be celebrating 15 outstanding young people across several categories such as Legal Practice, Health, Media, Agriculture, Public Service, Governance, Tech, Entertainment, Advocacy, Entrepreneurship, Arts/Literature, and Sports, as well as the coveted “Young Person of the Year”.
According to the nominations list unveiled by the organizers, topping with three nominations is Nigerian skit maker and activist, Mr Macaroni. Football star and FC Barcelona Femeni forward, Asisat Oshoala bagged two nominations.
