The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe has been announced as one of the winners of the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards.
The event which took place on Sunday, Boxing Day, at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, recognised 15 outstanding young people across different categories.
In recognition of his sterling achievements since he assumed office in July, Ogunlewe was nominated in the ‘Most Outstanding Young Person in Governance’ category alongside the Chairperson of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.
Others nominated in the category are Ayo Adenuga, Leader, Ikeja LGA; and Owolabi Ajani, Member Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Institution.
Receiving the award which was presented at the event by the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Segun Dawodu, Ogunlewe, flanked by well-wishers, thanked the organisers for the recognition, and seized the opportunity to rededicate himself to the service of the people of Kosofe Local Government.
Themed “The Working Tribe”, this year’s edition of the Lagos Youth Awards is designed to celebrate exemplary young people in the nation’s centre of excellence, Lagos.
The annual event is an initiative of BBN360, a thriving media company based in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with some youth-based non-profit organizations.
