Lagos State Youth Council Holds Town Hall Meeting To Mark International Youth Day In Laspotech

In commemoration of the 2021 International Youths Day, the Lagos chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria organized a 3-day senatorial meeting which started on Monday 9th of August 2021 and ended today the 11th of August.
This year’s theme: transforming Food systems: Youth Innovation for human and planetary health, had various speakers and discussants sharing different views on how best the youths of Lagos State can be engaged to address food security in the state.
The final town hall meeting which was held at the Lagos State polytechnic auditorium, Ikorodu was hosted by the Lagos East Senatorial district of Lagos NYCN.
The programme had Dr Adebosin Gbadebo, Deputy Provost of Lagos State Cooperative college, as the Keynote Speaker and Mr Abraham Great as Speaker while Hon. Femi Saheed, Kosofe Constituency 2, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Chairperson, Ijede LCDA, Bldr. Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA and Comrade Deji Tinubu, former Secretary, NYCN-Lagos were discussants at the town hall meeting.
Dr Gbadebo in the course of his presentation emphasised the need for Nigerian youths to involve themselves in Agriculture as it is the panacea to food security in the state. He challenged youths to stop seeing Agriculture as a development issue rather they should see it as a business venture.
In his opening remark, the Chairman of NYCN, Lagos, Lekan Oba opined that the Lagos State government has put in place different schemes channelled at engaging and developing the capacity of youths to be drivers of the economy like the Agric Yes program, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund amongst others
