The Lagos State Government has announced the approval of the payment of of 30% Basic Salary as End-of-Year Bonus, alongside December 2020 salary, to all political appointees and public Servants in the State.
This was contained in a circular, on Tuesday, from the office of the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, with Ref. No: CIR/HOS/’20/Vol.1/138.
This decision, according to Muri-Okunola, was “in fulfillment of the present Administration’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce and in continuous benevolence to appreciate the contributions of all State Public Servants to the accomplishment of all set goals and vision.”
Also, the beneficiaries of this gesture include employees of Local Governments, Local Council Development Areas, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
The document read: “In addition, the End-of-Year Bonus of 30% Basic Salary will be paid along with December 2020 salary, as a “NON TAXABLE ELEMENT”.
“Accordingly, it is believed that Public Servants will reciprocate this kind gesture with more commitment and diligence in qualitative service delivery, towards fulfilling the laudable programmes of the present Administration, which would sustain the enviable status of Lagos State as the Centre of Excellence.”
