Following the successes of Badagry and Ikorodu Camps which were applauded across the state and beyond, the final lap of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp, on Sunday, opened in Surulere to massive exhilaration as parents and guardians brought in their kids and wards to another round of fun and learning.
The Summer Camp, an initiative of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), was designed for pre-teens between ages 9-14 in a secured and conducive environment with caring and experienced camp counselors to guide them throughout.
The final lap of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp according to the Director General of the Commission, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan promises to be a week of training, entertainment and all round skill development for the campers.
Joining the LSSC team to welcome the 120 campers was the Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Hon. Lanre Oshun who assured all of the state’s commitment to the development of young people.
The project which is inspired by Governor’s Sanwo-Olu’s mantra of “catching them young” is holding at the much-acclaimed Teslim Balogun Stadium which recently became home to Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
