Lagos Sports Commission Partners Education Secretaries In Sport Planning At Primary School Level, Breaks 35-Year Jinx

In its bid to bring an all-inclusive development into sports in the State, the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) held a joint meeting with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) and Education Secretaries on the need to bring Sports back to curriculum in Lagos State.

With this development, the Commission has broken a jinx of 35 years by involving Education Secretaries in all the local government areas in the state in the development of sports.

The meeting was held, on Friday, at the Teslim Balogun Stadiun in Surulere. It had in attendance the President of Nigeria School Sports Federation, Olabisi Joseph.

The LSSC team had the Executive Chairman, Mr. Sola Aiyepeku and the Director General, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan in attendance.

According to the Education Secretaries, this is the first time in the last 35 years that they are being recognized at this level to discuss on grassroots sports and planning for sports development in Lagos State.

Noting that meeting was a right step in the right direction, the Education Secretaries pledged to work together with the Lagos State Sports Commission and Lagos State State Universal Basic Education Board in bringing sports back to the primary schools in Lagos like it used to be.
