Chief Superintendent of Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, the outgoing spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

He takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command as head of operations.

Police authorities described the move as part of routine administrative changes aimed at career growth and manpower optimisation, clarifying that it is neither punitive nor controversial.

A seasoned communicator, Hundeyin holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He has also received specialised training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Leadership Institute in Jaji.

He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

Hundeyin’s career includes serving with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he developed expertise in international peacekeeping and crisis communication.

Appointed Lagos Police PRO in March 2022, he succeeded DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu and has since earned commendations for strengthening police community relations through proactive public engagement.

As the national spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Hundeyin is expected to lead the Force’s communications strategy, improve transparency, and boost public trust through effective crisis management and strategic messaging.

The appointment will take effect in the coming days following an official handover at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
