The Lagos State Police Command has announced a revision to the previously stated restriction on vehicular and waterways movement ahead of the Local Government Elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 10, the police said the restriction will now commence at 6:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM on election day, a shift from the earlier time of 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the adjustment was made to accommodate residents with critical medical emergencies and longstanding international travel commitments.
The election will be conducted across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the state.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured Lagosians of the Command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure electoral process.
He called on all residents to cooperate fully with security agencies, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activity.

Residents are urged to adhere strictly to the revised movement schedule and maintain law and order throughout the election period.
