Lagos Mainland youths honour APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel

A leader of leaders, an astute mentor, a committed development advocate. These were some of the words used to describe Hon. Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), when a delegation of Lagos Mainland youths paid him a courtesy visit at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja on Tuesday, May 23.

The youths also seized the opportunity to present Israel with an “Outstanding Leadership Award” in recognition of his exceptional contribution to youth development and national transformation.

The Leader of the delegation, Tinubu Rilwan Ayodeji, a former Lagos State Secretary of National Youth Council of Nigerian stated that the youths of Lagos Mainland, the primary constituency of the APC National Youth Leader, are not only proud of his emergence, but are more confident of his capacity and competence to deliver exceptionally.

He pointed to the many sacrifices and support Israel has made to youths and the APC at the constituency level. According to Tinubu, “Hon. Dayo has through his influence, network and resources sponsored many young people in Lagos and Lagos Mainland in particular for capacity building programmes in Nigeria and abroad. He has mentored and empowered many of us, and we are grateful to him.”

Another member of the delegation, Amodu Sheu, who is the youngest APC Ward Chairman in Lagos Mainland, noted that Israel has left an indelible mark in the education sector of Lagos State where he served as a Permanent board member of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), adding that he remains a role model to young people in Lagos Mainland.

While appreciating the Youths, the APC National Youth Leader said he was proud of the kind gesture, especially coming from his primary constituency, noting tha all politics is first local.

He then promised to keep driving the course of development of young people, and raising more leaders among them and creating more opportunities for them to thrive.
