In a significant political development, Lijirin Ruth Ayomide, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement, has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

This was made known to the public by obtaining the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form at the party secretariat.

Announcing her candidacy, Lijirin emphasized that this moment represents not just a personal milestone but a collective aspiration for a renewed and prosperous Bariga.

She stated, “This moment is not just about me, it is about a renewed hope, a shared vision, and a deep commitment to building a better, stronger, and more prosperous Bariga for all.”

Lijirin’s dedication to community service is evident through her leadership of the LiRA Foundation, which has been instrumental in initiatives like the ‘Back-To-School’ program, providing educational kits to pupils and students in Lagos.

Her campaign is anchored on principles of inclusive governance, sustainable development, and the empowerment of every resident in Bariga.

She envisions a Bariga that stands as a beacon of leadership and progress, stating, “Together, we will make Bariga a shining example of leadership and progress.”

As the 2025 local government elections approach, Lijirin’s entry into the chairmanship race is poised to bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the political landscape of Bariga LCDA.
