The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has temporarily shut down Lobster Beach Club over a series of environmental violations, following complaints from residents in the area.

According to a statement issued by the agency, neighbors raised concerns about persistent noise pollution, the use of fireworks, marijuana smoking, and the illegal felling of trees within the club’s premises.

After verifying the reports, LASEPA said it moved swiftly to enforce environmental standards.

“The infractions include the smoking of marijuana, frequent and unregulated use of fireworks that pose safety and noise concerns, and the unauthorized removal of palm trees,” the statement read.

The agency emphasized that the enforcement action was carried out professionally and without victimization.

“This action reflects LASEPA’s unwavering commitment to upholding environmental standards while reinforcing that no individual or establishment is above the law,” the agency stated.

As part of the conditions for reopening, Lobster Beach Club is required to submit all relevant permits and approvals for lawful operations.

The management must also provide evidence of designated smoking areas in accordance with public health and environmental regulations.

LASEPA reiterated its dedication to promoting responsible environmental practices across Lagos.

“We remain committed to upholding compliance through fair and firm enforcement while ensuring Lagos remains a safe and healthy place for all,” the agency added.
