Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, the apex leader of Lagos’ Governance Advisory Council (GAC),toured the SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Wednesday.
This state-of-the-art facility has empowered over 8,400 constituents,mostly youths, with essential skills in digital technology and innovation, including Tech Talent Development, Data Science, and Teachers’ Fellowship.
Prince Olusi, accompanied by political leaders from the Ikorodu division, members of the GAC, praised the Innovation Lab for its transformative role in the Lagos East Senatorial District.
He particularly praised Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru and Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, co-founders of the lab, for their visionary leadership in driving youth empowerment through education and skills development.
During the tour, Prince Olusi highlighted the significance of investing in young people’s potential, emphasizing the lab’s contribution to Nigeria’s economic development. He acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for encouraging Senator Abiru to enter politics, enabling him to leverage his corporate experience for public service.
“It is commendable that this facility is dedicated to educating and training our youth, who are pivotal to the future leadership and economic growth of our nation,” Prince Olusi remarked.
In response, Senator Abiru expressed his commitment to nurturing young talents through the lab’s programs, stating, “We are dedicated to upskilling our youth, harnessing their resourcefulness, and inspiring them through interactions with accomplished individuals.”
Among the dignitaries present, Lagos State’s Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, praised the lab as innovative and essential for future-oriented skills development.
Dr. Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, emphasized the critical role of digital skills in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for Nigerian youths. He highlighted the lab’s role in advancing the digital economy and fostering national development.
Senator Abiru expressed gratitude to Prince Olusi, APC leaders from Ikorodu division, and other distinguished guests for their visit and encouragement to lab beneficiaries. The event underscored a collaborative effort towards empowering Nigerian youths and enhancing national prosperity through innovation and education.
