The Deputy of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni, has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for the Senate seat in Lagos Central Senatorial District.
The primary election was held on Saturday at the popular Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The lawmaker, an ally of the outgoing Lagos Central Senator, Oluremi Tinubu, defeated three other aspirants to emerge as the APC flagbearer.
According to the final results, he polled 185 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Ademola Seriki who managed to secured 97 votes. Placing third is Hakeem Apatira with 22 votes, while Oyinlomo Danmole, a former Commissioner got no vote.
Eshinlokun-Sanni currently represents Lagos Island Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly. He had served as the Executive Chairman, Lagos Island Local Government from 2008 to 2014. He was also the Secretary of the Lagos APC in 2014.
