Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) begins Vehicular Parking Lane Markings in selected streets in some high vehicular density roads in the state.
The process which began on Monday, November 28, is aimed at improving the parking system in the State, as stated by the Authority.
Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, the General Manager of LASPA made it known in her Ikeja office last Friday that the vehicular parking lane mark exercise is part of the initiative to be rolled out by the agency aimed at improving street parking from 2023.
She stated that this initiative will further guide motorists and pedestrians on appropriate parking regulations and spaces, reducing confusion and uncertainty while communicating parking procedures to residents in each specified environment. Among other things, the lane markings will include special consideration for people with disabilities and signposts for parking directives.
Surulere, Ikoyi, Lekki, Obalende, Ikeja, and the Victoria Island axis are among the areas in the state that will be affected, according to Adelabu. She sought the understanding of residents in the affected areas who might be inconvenienced by any inconvenience caused by the process, assuring that the state government is working hard to improve the state’s parking culture.
