Lagos, Nigeria has earned the dubious distinction of becoming the leading worst traffic city in the world, according to a recent report released by the renowned statistical source, World of Statistics.

The World of Statistics, though it’s Twitter handle, released the report on Tuesday.

The report ranked cities based on their traffic congestion, taking into account factors such as average commute time, traffic jams, and infrastructure challenges.

Lagos topped the list, surpassing major global cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Delhi.

The World of Statistics report ranked 236 cities worldwide, and Lagos emerged as the city with the most severe traffic problems.

This ranking highlights the pressing issue of traffic congestion in the African metropolis, which is home to over 21 million people.

The city’s rapid population growth, coupled with inadequate infrastructure development, has contributed to its worsening traffic situation.

With Lagos at the top of the list, other cities also faced their share of traffic woes. Los Angeles, USA, and San Jose, Costa Rica followed closely behind, claiming the second and third spots, respectively, as well as Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Dhaka, Bangladesh who completed the top five of the list.
