By A leading aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Ikorodu Constituency I, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan has purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pursue his legislative aspiration ahead of the primaries.
Bolowotan, who is the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday.
He described his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda as one that seeks to ensure that the people of Ikorodu Constituency I are better represented at the state assembly and to ensure that things get in better perspective.
“Over the years, I have contributed my quota to individual growth of persons and the society at large,” the LSSC boss said.
“My activities have seen me make huge impacts in the world of finance, branding and sports which I have become avowed for. My achievements in these fields have prepared me for a life of public service and I state categorically that I am prepared for this challenge.”
The aspirant thanked the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support over the years. He equally appreciated leaders of the APC in Ikorodu Division such as a former deputy governor in the state and GAC member, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government and GAC member, Bashorun Olorunfunmi; the former APC Vice Chairman for Lagos East, Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya as well as other apex leaders whose support have helped his political growth.
Addressing delegates and other party faithfuls, Bolowotan said: “My dear people, it’s a new dawn. Our party, the All Progressives Congress has made a bold statement that democratic values will be upheld ahead of our upcoming primaries, I urge you all to remain steadfast as we continue to conduct ourselves in a responsible manner. Let our achievements speak for us, that’s all that matter.”
