LAHA Has Achieved Another First With Streaming of Plenary Sessions Says Youth Parliament Speaker

The Lagos State House of Assembly as again proven to be worthy role model to the Lagos State Youth Parliament with the announcement on Tuesday,  August 30, 2016 that it will commence live-streaming of its plenary sessions, to afford Lagos residents and Nigerians the opportunity to watch and contribute to legislative debates in real time. By this the Lagos State House Assembly has shown its commitment to quality representation and making a difference in the area of lawmaking.

The Lagos State Youth Parliament commends the pacesetting feats of the Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Honourable Mudasiru Obasa, and call on other state assemblies across the federation and the National Assembly to emulate this people oriented form of legislative openness.

In a signed communique by Speaker Seriki Muritala the Youth Parliament expressed appreciation to Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade (Majority Leader), Hon. Segun Olulade (Chairman House Committee on Health), Hon.  Kasumu Richard  (Chairman House Committee on Youth) and other Honourables in the Assembly who have been engaging youths of Lagos State through empowerment programmes aimed at breaking the circle of youth unemployment and dependency.

He said, “We at the Youth Parliament will continue to provide the State Assembly with necessary youth focused deliberations that will help in the formulation of state policies and laws aimed at preparing the Youth for leadership positions.”
