Actress Biola Bayo has revealed that a guest on her podcast, “Talk to B”, faked her own death after sharing a disturbing story of sexual struggles and addiction.

The guest, identified as Nike (real name Adenike Adewodun), claimed to have engaged in sexual activities with dogs and later announced her suicide, which Biola shared on social media.

Biola’s team investigated the inconsistencies in the story and discovered that Nike was alive.

In a press statement, Biola explained that her team had offered Nike therapy and help, but she “freaked out” and faked her own death in a “devilish and ungodly manner”.

Biola’s team was emotionally and mentally disturbed by the news of Nike’s death and tried to locate her house to offer condolences but found it difficult.

After discovering the truth, Biola’s team wrote a petition to the Nigeria Police Force, leading to the arrest of Adenike and her friend, who had announced her death.

Upon interrogation, Adenike confessed to faking her own death due to public backlash following the podcast. She admitted that she had approached Biola for the interview and felt overwhelmed by the public’s reaction.

Biola expressed relief and disappointment, stating that the incident was a learning experience for her podcast, which aims to provide a safe space for people to share their stories.

She also mentioned that her team had offered help to many people through the podcast, including free therapy and crowdfunding. The statement concluded that Adenike’s mother confirmed that her daughter’s story was real, but she had made a mistake by faking her own death.

Biola’s team is now more cautious and vigilant in verifying the stories shared on their platform.

The incident has raised questions about the responsibility of podcasters and content creators in verifying the stories shared on their platforms and the potential consequences of spreading false information.
