Kwara Council Poll: Electorate Raze Down Senator’s House After Security Aides Shot 3 Dead
The Kwara State Local Council Poll took an ugly turn on Saturday after a lawmaker, Senator Mohammed Sha’aba Lafiaji was barricaded from passing through a portion of the road that was renovated by the constituents, his call for security back up had three of the youth blocking the road shot dead.
According to a report by News Agency of Nigeria, the constituents had called on the lawmaker to assist in repairing the road situated in Edu Local Government, Kwara North Senatorial District which he never did, but the repair was done without his help.
It was learnt that Senator Sha’aba was however warned not to attempt using same road which he complied with till the Local Council Elections on Saturday, November 18th. The news of his coming got the residents to block the road but the lawmaker immediately called on some Military men who on arrival shock sporadically killing three men.
The death of three yet-to-be-identified residents infuriated others who immediately rushed to Sha’aba’s residential home and razed a portion of it down before they were disrupted.
Attempts made by NAN to speak with the lawmaker proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
