Kwam 1’s Son, Anifowoshe Arrested in US for Fraud

It is no cheering news for Nigeria’s King of Fuji Music, Wasiu Ayinde Adewale a.k.a K1 De Ultimate as his son; Sultan Omogbolahan Anifowoshe has been reported arrested in the United States over an alleged $2 million wire fraud involving “fake romance” and non-existence global job offers.

The 26 year old was arrested along with several others in Illinois Chicago, Texas and Nigeria after a multi-nation investigation that commenced as a result of complaint lodged and filed on the 4th of December 2018, in the District court of Chicago.

One of the alleged Schemes involved “romance scams” which start with a love affair online that ends with a conspirator convincing the victim to send money to a predetermined recipient.

In reacting to the arrest of the Fuji star’s son, the Media and Publicity Director to k1 De Ultimate Band, Kunle Rasheed explained that there is no doubt that Sultan was among those that were arrested but what is not true is that he is a fraudster.

“We can confidently say that he was not in any way involved in the crime, which explains why he was the only person that was released on bail. The bail given to Sultan indicates that he is not involved in the crime, he is only a victim of circumstance who happened to be at a wrong place at a wrong time.” He explained.

Reports has it that those arrested with Sultan included Daniel Samuel Eta,35, Babatunde Ladehinde Labiyi,20, Barnabas Oghenerukevwe Edjieh,29, Babatunde Ibraheem Akarigidi, 39, Miracle Ayokunle Okunola, 21, Olurotimi Akitunde Idowu, 55.

Adewale Anthony Adewumi, 27, was arrested in Texas while Olaniyi Adeleye Ogungbaiye, 26, aka DonChiChi was nabbed in Nigeria’s commercial city of Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
