By Kirikiri Community Laments Neglect Of Dilapidated Roads
A resident of Kirikiri town has disclosed how a bad section of one of the major roads caused a terrifying accident involving haulage trucks.
According to the concerned resident who took to the social media to complain about the present state of the road, the community which has about six tank farms has been neglected by all stakeholders and the residents are left to bear the brunt caused by any agonising incidents.
While describing the accident that occurred on Karimu Street on Tuesday, the Facebook user wrote that the section of the road is now an eyesore and commuters now get scared anytime trucks and tankers pass through the roads. He noted that the accident on Tuesday wasn’t fatal as there were no human casualties recorded, but said such luck can not be guaranteed.
A quick search by BlackBox Nigeria confirmed that residents of Kirikiri town have over the years live in appalling condition due to the total neglect of the community by successive administrations in the State. The coastal community which is located in Oriade Local Council Development Area suffers neglect both from State Government and also private companies who operate tank farms, who daily load petroleum products despite been a residential area.
It was gathered that the roads leading to Kirikiri town were in sorry state and poses a great danger to all residents and commuters who commute the road on daily basis.
