Legendary Juju musician and cultural icon, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has publicly refuted viral reports suggesting he was missing, declaring he is “alive, well and grateful” to his fans and supporters.

The music icon made the statement in a press release on Tuesday, following online claims from one of his children, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, who alleged that KSA had been unreachable and possibly held against his will by his manager.

In his statement, King Sunny Ade dismissed the reports as “falsehood and fabricated news,” describing the claims made by Damilola and her supporters as “completely false.”

He affirmed that he is in good health and has not been missing.

“It is very important to address the falsehood and fabricated news… and to assure the general public and loved ones that I am alive and safe,” the statement read.

KSA also warned those spreading the rumors, including bloggers and individuals allegedly exploiting his name for attention, to desist or prepare to face legal consequences.

“I admonish the Blogger(s) responsible for this mischievous act… to desist forthwith otherwise be prepared to face the wrath of the law,” he stated.

The statement comes amid growing concern and confusion online following a series of social media posts, particularly from Damilola who identifies as one of the musician’s children alleging that King Sunny Ade had been deliberately kept away from his family.
