The Kano State Government has suspended all the traditional rites usually associated with Eid-el-Kabir in the state, in the forthcoming festivities.
Also suspended was the traditional ‘homage paying’ on the Governor by Emirs, as well as convergence of monarchs at the Shettima Government House, Kano, among other traditional outings by the Emirates.
The State’s Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, told reporters that the decision is part of government’s efforts to consolidate on the successes recorded in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.
