According to fresh reports, entertainment businessman and social activist, Audu Maikori has been re-arrested today, Friday, by the Nigerian Police.
The report which is yet to be confirmed from the Chocolate City boss or his lawyers have it that he was taken into custody after honouring an invitation to appear for a routine report and subsequently whisked away to Kaduna for prosecution.
Recall Maikori was first arrested on February 17, 2017 following a Facebook post on the Southern Kaduna killings which he later retracted after it turned out some of the details of the post were inaccurate.
Despite apologising and retracting the post, the Police went ahead to arrest him. He was released a day after.
This reported re-arrest however is coming on the heels of health concerns after, just a few days ago, Maikori collapsed at the Muson centre venue of the annual Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference hosted by Ebony Life TV founder, Mo Abudu.
Though it is not yet clear when he will be charged, comments by Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai who vowed to prosecute him while he spoke during the Social Media Week held in Lagos, do indicate that that he may be charged under the Penal Code on counts bordering on conspiracy and inciting public disturbance respectively.
