By Just in! September 1 confirmed as Sallah day
The first day of September has been confirmed as the 2017 Eid Kabir day. This is following the declaration of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar.

In a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, the Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sokoto Sultanate Council, Sa’ad Abubakar who is also the Chairman Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs made the declaration following the sighting of the moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday.
Already Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria have started purchasing their rams in preparation for the celebration.
