By Kogi West Senatorial District women have come out to speak against the negative activities of its Senator, Dino Melaye has they debunked staging a protest in his interest.
In a press release circulating online, the Women alleged that the Senator in a similar way he staged the shooting at his residence couple of days ago, he also staged a supposed solidarity protest by some individuals who claimed were women in the Senatorial District.
According to the statement, the lawmaker is framing up allegations against the State Governor and Sole Administrator of Ijumu LGA to divert attention of his not giving back to his community.
The statement also revealed that Senator Melaye is yet to get a Constituency office where constituents can sit to have a chat with their representative.
The women alleged that instead of the lawmaker to carry out developmental projects in the community, he is parading himself as a bodyguard in the National Assembly. It stated that after his election victory in 2015, he has never done anything in his community rather than flaunt his wealth in the eyes of hungry constituents.

BEING A PRESS RELEASE BY KOGI WEST WOMEN AGAINST THE SHAMEFUL ACTS OF SENATOR DINO MELAYE AND THE PURPORTED PROTEST BY KOGI WEST WOMEN
We have observed with utter dismay the determination of Senator Dino Melaye to continue with his shameful display of ignorance and childishness towards the government of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
This lingering show of shame by Dino should not be left untamed, hence the need for Kogi West women to rise up against this arrogant, self-serving unfortunate son of ours.
Senator Dino Melaye has remained consistent in embarrassing the entire people of Kogi West Senatorial District which he is supposed to be representing, he has abandoned his legislative assignments and resulted to frivolities.
For almost two years, one cannot point at a meaningful developmental program embarked upon by this man, not even a single constituency office where constituents can interact with the senator. Yet he goes around brandishing his all gotten wealth at the faces of the people who he is supposed to be representing.
Many of our children are graduates, many have one skill or the other which are dying for empowerment. But our so-called senator is busy acting as a body guard in the National Assembly and giving peanut to youths who come to him for empowerment in the name CONDOM EMPOWERMENT. This is highly shameful and regrettable.
We the Kogi West women also frown greatly at the senseless and aimless shot at the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Dino, after being exposed of all his antics with his group of diaspora politicians, has as common of him, stooped so low to organize an attack against himself to frame the Governor. We know Dino, we know what he is capable of doing, and the recent attempt is not unconnected to the attention seeking drive of Dino Melaye. It is very laughable of Dino Melaye to accuse our humble son, Hon. Taufiq Isa, the Administrator of Ijumu LGA of thuggery. This is very silly, we know Hon. Taufiq Isa to be a very level-headed gentleman, an illustrus Okun son who has proven his worth over the years, and has teamed up with the Executive Governor to bring in the needed development to our land.
Dino has forgotten that those who live in glass house don’t trow stones, if we are to go down memory lane, the thuggery activities of senator Dino Melaye cannot be equaled by any known leader from Okun land, he is being hunted by the ghost of his past.
The claimed assassination attempt is nothing but the usual drama orchestrated by the shameless senator to divert attention from his dismal performance in the Senate.
We also wish to condemn in strong terms the importation of Ilorin woman who staged a shabby protest in Aiyetoro impersonating Okun women. We the Okun women are honourable and highly dignified, we will not stoop so low to support a self-seeking individual and a wife beater. Dino is a man known for serial wife bartering, his first, second and third attempt at marriage ended prematurely because he turned all his wives to punching bags, this same Dino abused Oshiomole’s wife, he also spoke down on Remi Tinubu and threatened to rape her. He is a man who has no regards for the dignity of women. So we find it very surprising that any woman would support such an irresponsible fellow.
Okun women are not like that. We therefore disassociate ourselves in totality from that protest and we warn Dino Melaye to desist from importing strangers into our land. Okun women are peace loving people, but even a goat when pushed to the wall, would bite. Dino should take note.
Finally, we wish to urge the entire Okun women not to fall for the antics of senator Dino Melaye, he is a clown and a serious distraction. Let’s remain steadfast and resolute in our support for the New Direction government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
It is so unfortunate that we are left to endure this type of representation in the Senate. No matter the antics, we will continue to demand for the dividends of quality representation from Dino Melaye and he must meet up with our demands.
Dino Melaye should focus on the assignment that we gave him at the National Assembly. Otherwise, we shall begin a process of recall. Enough of this embarrassment.
