Lagos East Senator-Elect, Tokunbo Abiru, on Tuesday, was sworn in as a member of the Nigerian Senate, alongside three other new Senators, by Senate President Ahmed Lawan.
The Senators, who were recently elected through bye-elections in states across the country, include Adetokunbo Abiru (Lagos East), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa West), Senator Cleopas Moses (Bayelsa Central) and Senator Nora Ladi Dadu’ut (Plateau South).
The Clerk to the Senate, Ibrahim El-Ladan administered the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance on the new Senators.
Recall INEC had declared Tokunbo Abiru, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner of the Lagos East senatorial bye-election after polling 89,204 votes. His closest rival, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 11,251 votes.
