By Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a personal donation of N5m to the Best Graduating Student of the Lagos State University, Shotunde Oladimeji.
The gesture was also extended to the Best Masters Degree Awardee, Olabanjo Aanu who graduated with a perfect CGPA of 5.0.
The 22-year-old Oladimeji, who is from the department of Business Administration, graduated with a CGPA of 4.95, the highest in the University’s history. He emerged as the overall Best Graduating Student of the 2018/2019 academic session.
In addition to the cash donation, he will also get a scholarship to any university of his choice to any level.
Sanwo-Olu made the announcement, on Thursday, during his address at the 24th convocation ceremony of the institution, which he delivered virtually from the State House, Marina.
The governor also praised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM, for his tremendous efforts to the growth of the Lagos State University. He described the VC as an exceptional leader who has earned his respect, saying the state will honour him in due course.
