John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has lost one of his legs after undergoing seven surgeries to save his life.
The Nigerian comedy actor’s family announced the sad news on his Instagram page on Monday, saying that they had to accept his new reality.
The family had earlier said that he had successfully completed five surgeries and would soon travel abroad for further treatment.
However, his condition worsened and he had to undergo two more surgeries, resulting in the amputation of one of his legs.
The family thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers, and appealed for more help as he was still in a critical state.
They also shared his bank account details for those who wanted to make donations.
They said they hoped he would recover soon and appreciate everyone who stood by him.
