Just In: CCT Clears Senate President, Saraki Of All Charges

The Code of Conduct Tribunal moments ago have discharged the Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki of all 18 count charges filed against him.

Saraki was discharged and acquitted of all the charges based on no case submission by the defendant.

The no case submission filed by Saraki was upheld by the two-man panel led by Justice Danladi Umar holding that the evidence led by the prosecution was discredited under cross-examination and therefore unreliable.

The former Kwara State governor has now being cleared off all charges leveled by the Code of Conduct Bureau on charges bothering on asset declaration.

The CCT delcared that it could not convict the defendant based on evidence led by the prosecution through its four witnesses.
