With a 4-2 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Arsenal maintained their strong start to the Premier League season.

The game may have been played amidst a heatwave, but it was Gabriel Jesus who was on fire as he netted twice on his home debut to help Arsenal beat the Foxes in a topsy-turvy encounter.

The Brazilian forward scored twice for the Gunners in the first half, the first of which was an exquisite play in which he chipped the ball into the top corner from inside the area. Thirteen minutes later, he nodded in from close range to give Arsenal the lead.

William Saliba’s own goal cut the deficit in half for the Foxes early in the second half, giving them hope. However, a mistake from Ward just a few moments later allowed Granit Xhaka to give his team the two-goal advantage back.

The 74th-minute goal by James Maddison was merely a consolation for the visitors, as the host ended up with all three points.

The result proved to be enough to secure a second successive win at the start of the season, and kick the campaign off in the perfect fashion.
