The Jadiara Royal House, a member of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode, has publicly distanced itself from the Awujale stool aspiration of Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose, stating that he has no genealogical link to the family.

In a letter dated 7 December 2025 and addressed to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode, the Oloriebi of Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Prince Akinola Odedina, said the family had maintained studied silence over recent developments but decided to speak because the matter has now become an issue of public interest.

Odedina stated categorically that, based on the family’s records, Wasiu Ayinde does not have ancestral ties to the Jadiara Royal House, contrary to claims reportedly being made in relation to his interest in the Awujale throne.

He acknowledged that the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House might have issued Anifowose a nomination form, but noted that this was done with the expectation that he would return with documents to prove his roots and have them authenticated by the Jadiara Royal House.

According to the letter, the family has been waiting for Anifowose to appear before them with his completed form and supporting documents to substantiate his claim. However, the Oloriebi said he has yet to present himself or submit any papers to the Jadiara Royal House for verification.

“It is necessary to release this information because the issue has become a matter of public interest,” the letter explained, adding that both the family and the wider public would be kept informed as events unfold.

The correspondence was copied to key government and traditional authorities, including Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, the Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ogun State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Secretary of Ijebu Ode Local Government, and the Chairman of the Awujale Interregnum Administration Council.
