Enraged 61-year-old Italian man, Mr. Pierangelo Pelliza, took no chill as he rained bullets on his 31-year-old Nigerian wife, Amenze Rita, at Noventa Vicentina, Italy.
The deceased had reportedly filed a divorce against her husband which eventually led to her untimely death.
The late Rita got married to the Italian in 2018, having arrived Italy through Libya in 2017.
She was reportedly murdered at Mf Mushroom, a company where she works, under the watchful eyes of her colleagues.
According to newsbearer.com, the suspect had, on Friday, waylaid the deceased around 7:30am and shot her four times until she gave up the ghost.
Meanwhile, the incident had sprang a lot of reactions among Nigerians which include the Nigeria Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Omini Abam and the Chairman, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
They demanded, alongside the Nigerian Community in Italy, for full investigation into the killing — a demand which according to the head of Media and Public Relations NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, had prompted the arrest of the estranged husband, Mr. Pierangelo.
