Ita-Elewa Mini Stadium Comes Alive As Gov. Sanwo-Olu Commissions Facility Facilitated By Rep. Babajimi Benson
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today commissioned Ikorodu Youth Centre housing the mini-stadium facilitated by member, House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Benson through the office of the Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the President, Princess, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
The redevelopment of the Ita-Elewa recreational Centre and playing field into the first major functional sporting facility in Ikorodu Federal Constituency was made possible through budgetary provision by the Federal Government through the OSSAP-SDGs.
The commissioned sporting facility is a 5–Aside synthetic turf football pitch with a concrete spectator stand, basketball and lawn tennis courts. The reconstructed stadium also has an indoor games hall, gym hall, players changing room and a sickbay.
The mini stadium and computerised Youth Centre in Ita-Elewa commissioned by Governor Sanwo-Olu during his working visit to Ikorodu were in fulfilment of his pledge to deliver state-of-the-art facilities in line with his THEMES agenda.
Earlier in the day, the people of Ikorodu Division turned out en masse at the Ikorodu Town Hall, where the Governor and members of cabinet met with residents to get feedback on how the programmes and policies of the Government are impacting lives.
The Governor used the opportunity to list his administration’s infrastructure scorecard in Ikorodu while stating that work will commence on Ijede-Gberigbe Road immediately.
Also, beneficiaries of the Governor’s working visit were 74 claimants who got N500 million as compensation on properties demolished for the Igbe-Igbogbo-Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu.
